North Korean diplomat doubts resumption of dialogue with the United States.

The North Korean Deputy Foreign Minister warned Washington not to test Pyongyang's patience, saying that Pompeo's remark that North Korea's actions are those of a "thug" has made it more difficult to resume discussions at the operational level between the two countries.
The resumption of dialogue between North Korea and the United States is faltering and hopes to see it reborn, as stated by a statement by North Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui , published Saturday, August 31st.
This statement comes in response to the words of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on North Korea's "thugging acts".
"Our expectations of the dialogue with the United States are gradually disappearing and we are forced to reconsider all the measures we have taken so far," said the North Korean Deputy Minister in a statement reported by the Central North Korean News Agency (KCNA).
"We are very curious as to why this top American diplomat made this thoughtless remark and we will observe what his intentions are. The United States should not have put our patience to the test with such an irritating remark if they do not want to have bitter regrets afterwards, "she said.
Attempts to resume talks?
In recent weeks, Pyongyang has increased its weapons tests to protest the military maneuvers of the United States and South Korea, which it regards as the repetition of an invasion of its territory. Outraged by this situation, Mike Pompeo announced Tuesday, August 27, in a speech for US veterans that the "thug behavior" of North Korea could not be ignored and that Washington "encourages global support to denuclearize Korea North".
The first meeting of Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un took place in June 2018 in Singapore. Yet, a little later, the dialogue between the two leaders began to trample during the talks in Vietnam in February 2019, because no agreement was reached.
The third interview between the two men took place in June 2019 during Trump's visit to South Korea, in the Demilitarized Zone between the two Koreas.
