LONDON - (AFP) Finished burgers, lasagna and spaghetti for the students of Goldsmiths University in London: beef will be banned to fight against climate change.
This ban on the sale of all products containing it will come into effect in campus shops in September 2019, said the university in the south-east of the British capital, cattle breeding being accused of being very consumer of water and source of deforestation.
With the goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2025, it will also apply a penalty of 10 pence (about 15 cents) on plastic bottles and non-reusable cups.
