The meeting of Herbert Schirmer (1967).
February 19, 2019
Written by the UFO Mysteries
This case is interesting in that it was the subject of an orderly official inquiry, as incredible as it may seem, by the Colorado project, better known as the '' Condon Committee '', consisting of a team Scientists at the University of Colorado at Boulder, commissioned by the US Air Force to depreciate under a scientific varnish sightings of UFOs.
The meeting of Herbert Schirmer (1967)
It is all the more so, that the abductee was, at the time of the incident, a municipal policeman in the exercise of his functions, which already discards the idea of a mounted blow and gives to his speech a credit calling for more attention.
Observation
On the evening of December 3, 1967, at two-thirty in the morning, police officer Herbert Schirmer, thirty-two years old, patrolled his service car off Ashland, Nebraska. He controls the Ashland Sales Barn, where he finds the cattle restless. As he gets out of his car, he hears dogs howling. Finding nothing, he continues his round, checking gas stations along the Nationale 6.
At 2:30, Schirmer crossed the intersection of National Roads 6 and 63, near Ashland, Nebraska, when he noticed in the light of his lighthouses a curious and voluminous structure in the field bordering the two roadways. The mass seems to be endowed with alternating pulsing side lights, which deceives the representative of the law, who thinks to have to deal with an accidental semi-trailer truck. He decides to take a turn to control, and arrives in front of the object with its lights pointed at the object.
The object is not a truck. It gets closer, noting that the lights begin to pulsate faster and faster through oval openings of an object shaped like a rugby ball (football).
The surface looks like polished aluminum, with a kind of rim all around. Below he sees a kind of tripod.
He turns the beam of his searchlight over the intruder, then stunned, sees it rise slowly in the air with a kind of siren sound and flames coming from below. He literally passes over Schirmer's car before speeding up into the sky where his lights blend into one to form only what looks like a star.
Schirmer returns to the police station to make a detailed report. He then notes with surprise that it is already 3h. He seems to have lost about 20 minutes. He writes by hand: Saw a flying saucer at the junction of Highways 6 and 63. Believe it or not! Subsequently, Schirmer finds himself with a red mark on his neck, a headache, and begins to feel bad.
This case was going to provoke a certain resonance in the local press, then National.
THE INQUIRY OF THE CONDON COMMITTEE
At the time, the University of Colorado at Boulder had asked the US Air Force to "scientifically" get rid of UFOs, so as to silence the harsh criticism of certain media outlets against it, but also to significantly reduce the interest of journalists in these phenomena. It was Dr. Edward U. Condon, dean of the University, who was to lead the members, all senior scientists, to carry out this reduction work.
The report of the police officer Schirmer received a great coverage, the Colorado Project took the trouble to send two of his consultants to Ashland to meet the witness and get his story spoken orally. Schirmer was questioned by Roy Crain, a physicist, and John Ahrens, psychologist, who established the undeniable credibility of the witness, who had no idea that he had been abducted ... because this possibility was considered by both members of the Condon Committee before anyone else. !
Indeed, during their investigation, the attention of the two scientists was attracted by several elements. For example, the witness told them that when he arrived at his police station, he had to swallow several glasses of water, as if he were dehydrated, that he had felt a very pronounced tingling throughout the body for a good while that, in the mirror of the police station's washroom, he noticed the presence of a red mark on his neck, under his left ear. On the other hand, he says he experienced a strong headache a little later in the day, while he was buzzing in his skull, deafening as he lay down to rest. Finally, by examining the report and Schirmer's logbook, the two scientists discovered a "missing time" that lasted twenty to thirty minutes. Schirmer noted that these details greatly impressed the two men and that they were then somewhat excited.
The Condon Committee decided to persuade the witness to come to Boulder for "psychological tests" at the University of Colorado, which proved to be in fact, when he was traveling with a colleague, an interrogation under hypnotic regression led by Dr. R. Leo Sprinkle, who was going to be talked about a few years later!
So Schirmer returned to Ashland to work as a policeman, but with a few snippets of memory flashing back into memory, he confided in a friend who directed him to researcher-author Eric Norman. The latter was told all the details of the case and decided to conduct a further investigation into this case that intrigued him.
Hypnosis
Edward Condon, UFO Project Director at the University of Colorado, tells Schirmer (right): We believe you ...
Drawing by Schirmer of the leader of his kidnappers.
The Condon Commission heard of this case and asked Schirmer to come to Boulder, Colorado, and on February 13, 1968, Leo Sprinkle caused Schirmer to regress under hypnosis.
According to the testimony under hypnosis Schirmer, beings taller than 1.50 m. stepped out of the UFO and surrounded his patrol car. Terrified, he tried to pull out his weapon, but was prevented by a command transmitted telepathically.
One of the beings was holding something like a box that covered the vehicle with gas or green light. One of the beings touched his neck and hurt him. The extraterrestrials questioned him about the Power Plant and the nearby water reservoir.
When he admitted to being the guardian of this city, he was taken aboard the UFO where he was told that the craft was driven by reversible electromagnetism and that he drew energy from the power lines and sources of electricity. water of the earth. The beings came from a close galaxy and had several bases on our planet.
Schirmer asked if the extraterrestrials were abducting people. They replied that they had "a program known as reproductive analysis" and that some humans were used for these experiments.
PRIVATE INVESTIGATION
Norman thus organized a hypnotic regression on June 8, 1968 at Moines, Iowa, under the responsibility of Mr. Loring G. Williams, professional hypnotist, specialist in hypnotic relaxation. The details of the repression proposed below come from his first book, while those cited above come from that of another researcher.
Note that while Dr. Condon officially refused to give credit to Schirmer's story, this was not the case with Dr. Sprinkle. According to Schirmer, the latter told him after the regression:
"What you have returned is a key to the future"
Questioned by Dr. Scott Rogo a few years later, Dr. Sprinkle was to say :
"I am convinced of the validity of the experience experienced by Schirmer. When I said this to her, that her testimony was a key to the future, it was expressed in a more nuanced way. I think I told him that stories like the one he had told were a kind of key to getting to a higher level in UFO study, to help us shape a model. »»
According to Norman, Schirmer learned several important things from a member of the Condon Committee whose name is not mentioned, including :
- Doctors Levine and Saunders were excluded from the Condon Committee when they began to realize that UFOs were real:
- Some Committee members thought that the C.I.A was in fact behind the Colorado Project behind the scenes, while the US Air Force acted in the public eye:
- Another abductee had been located and interned in a government institution (a federal hospital, or similar institution), where the mentally ill are usually treated. He had gone mad. He would have managed to bring back from his stay in a flying saucer some documents he had given to the people of the government (but Schirmer thought that this last information could have been given to him as a warning to induce him to be discreet) .
THE STORY OF THE WITNESS
Under hypnotic regressive regression exerted by Mr. L.G. Williams, the policeman would restore the following memories, summarized here:
"After getting closer to the landing place by car, I suddenly notice that my headlights and projector are no longer working, just like the vehicle engine and the onboard radio.
A door in the shape of an American football ball is drawn in the structure of the object and a moving staircase appears, that 2 little beings borrow to then go towards the car.
Suddenly, I start to panic and I want to grab my gun. Something that envy my mind prevents me. One of the people stands in front of the car and points an object on me. A kind of greenish gaseous substance gushes out and envelops the car. Then the individual points to the windshield another object he has eradicated from a kind of sheath he wears as a bandage. A lightning comes out: I realize then that I am wrapped in a layer of the same kind of fog, totally paralyzed.
An unknown force forces me to lower the window of the door. One of the characters grips my neck and I feel a sharp pain for a minute. Then the pain fades and I get out of the car, very calm, but like an automaton, deprived of my will. One of the beings stares straight in my eyes and asks me:
"Are you the guardian of this place?" I answer that I am a policeman, while I feel frightened to be so fixed in such a penetrating way.
The creature then asks me if there is a power station and a water tank in the area and, before I can give the answer, she invites me to come a few minutes aboard her ship.
Not being able to refuse the invitation, I resign myself to take the stairs and to access the device »»
INFORMATION IN WITNESS
It appears that all the data delivered to Schirmer were obtained from a kidnapper without him having to ask a question, as if the purpose of the abduction was essentially to instruct the witness to repeat then during the hypnotic regression what was said to him.
He who appears to be the leader of the kidnappers is trying to "talk to him", telling him that at the same time his mind is receiving data that remains printed.
The room in which the witness is driven is about 8 meters long, 6 meters wide, and 2 meters high. A diffused red light illuminates an interior whose ambient air is abnormally cold. Two seats with triangular bottoms are placed in front of a sort of control panel surmounted by a large screen that looks like a television set. Openings which may be hunlots surround the perimeter of the walls where also some pipes and ducts run. A humanoid presses a button and the witness feels a strong tingle gaining his body. Reels, resembling data tapes, begin to spin. The witness is then instructed, by telepathy he thinks, of the following :
- The motive power of the ship is based on electromagnetism, "causing the inversion of gravity" (sic):
- The vessel is designed for observation and includes a crew of 4 members:
- The people to whom the kidnappers belong have been watching us for a long time (without further details):
- The different contacts with humans are made to get used to the presence of this people, but also to arouse our perplexity. This in the context of a future official contact and not to invade our planet, but the entity specifies: "" You must believe us, but not too much! »»
- The people of the kidnappers is from a large galaxy, but he has "" bases on Venus and elsewhere "" (sic):
- Our firearms can be dangerous for the kidnappers when they are out of their device, but for the latter, because it is surrounded by a field of force which protects it effectively against any attack of our means of destruction.
During this "conversation," the leader of the kidnappers presses various buttons on a computer-like device, explaining to the witness that this maneuver is intended to instill in him other data. Contrary to this allegation, he informs the witness a little later that he must not tell anyone that he has boarded the ship. But it is more likely an action to erase his memories at the level of the conscious, because as soon as he made this remark, he intensely fixed Schirmer's eyes with this recommendation:
‘’You will only say that you saw the aircraft landed and took off as soon as you approached. You will not say anything more. We will see you again 2 times. Someone will warn you and you will know when it will happen’’
The being seizes again the neck of the witness, and the witness can leave the seat where it was placed before being returned to his car by 2 members of the crew.
ABDUCTORS
Their size has been estimated between 1m35 and 1m50, their members are muscular, but their movements are marked by a certain stiffness, especially in their approach, which is reminiscent of soldiers on parade. Their torso is, in proportion to their size, very developed, much more than ours. Conversely, their head is smaller, narrower than that of a human being of the same size. These physical peculiarities are all the easier to notice as the creatures wear a very tight fit.
Only the skin of the face, of a gray-white color, "like the dough of bread," is visible. The eyes, very large, almond-like those of some Orientals, with pupils resembling those of cats, are surmounted by very fine eyebrows. Curiously, their nose is long, and busqué, more pronounced than in humans. Their mouth is just a crack, with no discernible lips. Their hands, apparently covered with gloves, have 5 fingers.
A combination of a single silver-gray piece that sticks to their skin like that of frogmen, without seams, buttons or visible zipper, is tightened at their waist by a kind of belt with a case in which Schirmer assumes that there was a weapon of some kind. The combination covers them from the feet to the face, their heads being capped with a sort of helmet apparently made harder than that of the suit.
A small antenna-shaped device, visible above their ears, may be a radio system built into the ear canal. They also have no breathing apparatus, unless the large hooked nose is one, as suggested by an informant of Mr. Robert Emenegger in the similar testimony. (See his book UFO's Past, Present and Future, New York, Ballantine Books, 1974, p.129)
THE SHIP
During additive sessions of hypnotic regression, other information, of which here the most notable, surfaced.
- The vessel is over 30 meters in diameter:
- Its shell consists of 100% pure magnesium (!):
- No joint or any trace of rivet or welding is visible:
- A kind of protruding ring encircles the oval in the middle:
- Inside the command post, you can see on a big screen a landscape of the place where the ship is located:
- A demonstration of the puncture of electricity on a high-voltage line passing nearby was carried out.
The chef pressed a button on the console. Through one of the portholes, Schirmer saw a kind of antenna from the craft towards the high-voltage line. There was suddenly a violent electric shock as indicated by the brilliant lightning that marked this episode. The lightning was born on the line and rushed on the antenna.
The humanoid told Schirmer that the "full" had been done! Later, he had the reverse process done by "unloading the batteries" on the power line. He justified this maneuver by stating that the crew took electrical energy only in case of absolute necessity, in particular to constitute a protective force field around the ship when it is immobilized on the ground :
- The electromagnetic field that protects the ship during landings suspends the operation of all engines and electrical appliances. This would explain some of the primary effects observed on close-encounter or body-witnessed vehicles ("burns", tingling, etc.) as well as certain side effects (sleep disturbances, nightmares, anxieties, migraines, muscular pains, etc.). ...):
- The maximum speed of the ship is estimated at 240,000 kilometers / hour:
- Rotors resembling crystal globes located in the center of the vessel is connected to two large columns are expected to produce an antigravity effect.
OTHER REVELATIONS
The leader of the kidnappers also showed Schirmer a small mini-saucer-type device that could be dropped in flight from more populated areas requiring unobtrusive control and transmitted all kinds of information, including the images of the overflighted state, live view on the displayed screen. (the foo fighters of the second world war ?? !!)
It looked like these "baby-moon" style hubcaps that can be seen on some cars.
He also claimed that the Terrans did not do things the "right way", but without being more specific: that the captured people were taken at random - as were all other actions - that "in order to embarrass governments and investigators "»: that the kidnappers had underground and submarine bases on our planet, as indispensable for the kidnappers and their ships "as for the Terrans"!
He recognized that his fellows collected various samples of animals and plants, that a program devoted to the analysis of "human reproduction" was in progress and that some humans had been removed for testing in the past. part of this program. He did not specify whether these people were returned to their environment by the way, refusing to debate further on this subject.
Schirmer felt very strongly that the kidnappers had a very advanced technology on the knowledge of the human brain and that some humans were captured for significant changes to their mental structures. He relies on his own experience to support his assumption, explaining that he scrupulously executed the orders implanted in his brain by these creatures, that he had acted like a robot, giving very little information to Dr. Sprinkle (on behalf of the Condon Committee), because this restriction was included in the kidnappers' plan. He is convinced that they can control a human being through his brain as long as they deem it necessary.
Another curiosity, Schrimer remembered that the notion of UFOs injured by the interference of radar waves was instilled in his mind. He also remembered seeing books resembling flybooks in sheets of material very similar to paper with symbols that he compared to hieroglyphs. Finally, he was able to recreate an interesting detail, relating to a sort of badge representing a snake with wings that the crew members wore on their suit, on the right side of their chest.
Schirmer did not return the creatures, despite the promise to be visited twice again. This is very characteristic of this type of incident: commitments are made by the kidnappers, who never respect them, as long as it has been verified in certain cases. It should be noted that the abductees who had several contacts did not receive this kind of promise.
Schirmer's story also ends in a negative aspect, as one would often say. His case received significant media coverage. He became a kind of star in Ashland, but his life quickly turned into a nightmare.
To perceive an UFO, for the common man, is a sign which marks the witness in an irreversible way, distorting his relations with others. For a farmer or a taxi driver, it is not dramatic in itself, but for a policeman, it is a real ordeal.
The authorities soon realized that Schirmer needed to get rid of "cleanly". The witness, a few months after his misadventure, was appointed chief of the local police - at age 32, he was the youngest at the post in the whole country.
Two months later, he resigned, disgusted, he had become the cop who saw "little green men", a kind of curious beast that was pointed at and sometimes mocked. At such an important position, it does not forgive. He is not the only abductee to endure this situation. It is repeated systematically, to different degrees depending on the case: if the witness is a civil servant, his professional world is reduced to nothing: if he is in the private domain, he is forced to change his residence, if he is married, he is quickly led to divorce.
Police officer Jeffrey Greenshaw, who photographed a humanoid entity on October 17, 1973, near Falkville, Alabama, has the record in this area: he lost his job, had to move, was forced to divorce and as a bonus, dare I say his personal car was sabotaged before a criminal fire finally came to destroy the caravan where he had taken up residence.
Do not send the witnesses for RR3 and RR4. They are neither privileged nor elected, but people who, duped by an unknown intelligence, are condemned to become the victims of human imbecility.
Conclusion :
Characteristic elements of UFOs and abductions are found in this case :
- The notion of control of the brain that will characterize later all cases of abduction, especially from the late 1970s with the appearance of an implant introduced into the skull of the abductee nasally or aurally:
- Information about a program to analyze the Earth's reproductive system. This apparent interest in human sexuality also emerged in the late 1970s in hypnotic regressions on potential abductees. Note, however, that in 1957, the Brazilian Antonio Villas-Boas reported spontaneously copulating with a female humanoid creature aboard a flying saucer:
- Information on the force field surrounding the UFO that causes effects on motors and electrical appliances. Particularity already known before the capture of Schirmer - besides those of the wave of 1954.
