Some time before the famous meeting of Kenneth Arnold, to whom we owe the term "flying saucer", and whose observation was relayed as the first big apparition, countless UFOs were reported in the skies of Great Britain.
In one incident, several pilots reported encountering a mysterious object in the skies of the capital. One of the pilots attempted to shoot with his revolver, while another described it as a "wagon with lowered blinds".
"People tend to see aircraft in the sky more advanced than our technology, but still within the limits of credibility and opportunity," Watson said.

"Military Intelligence Officers have been studying the sightings," Watson said. "Often, they turned out to be simple natural phenomena or hoaxes. However, some have never found rational explanations.
In unresolved cases, a military intelligence officer was sent to investigate strange floating lights in the sky, seen over two months over the city of Plymouth. In another case, mysterious UFOs were spotted flying over the Lake District, a phenomenon so strange that military troops were sent to the scene in search of a hidden enemy base.
Unfortunately, nothing was discovered, but a reward of around 100 euros was offered to anyone who could shed light on the mystery.
