On the night of January 20th to 21st, 2019, the Earthmen will be able to contemplate the first celestial spectacle of the year: the super Moon of blood, indicates NASA.
Astronomers from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) have calculated that the Great Blood Moon will take place on the night of January 20-21, 2019. This will be the first lunar eclipse of 2019. This will be an eclipse total Moon, a phenomenon that occurs when the Moon enters the shadow of the Earth. The eclipse can be observed with the naked eye for almost five hours.
This phenomenon will be rather visible in North and South America, as well as on the European Atlantic coast. The total eclipse will be at its peak in metropolitan France, from 6:12 am (Paris time). In France, the inhabitants of Pays de la Loire, Brittany and Hauts-de-France will enjoy this show more than the others. At this event, the Moon will approach the Earth at a distance of about 357,344 km, according to NASA.
The next lunar eclipse will occur only on May 26, 2021.
