(.#219).- Hubble reveals the most distant image of space. Hubble reveals the most distant image of space. By Sylvain Chatelain - Updated on 26/09/2012 at 19:49 The eXtreme deep field is the most distant image of space ever made. NASA. Space telescope observations have reconstructed the most distant photograph of the universe from light emitted by galaxies more than 13 billion years ago. The so-called eXtreme deep field, or Hubble's "extremely deep field", is simply the deepest photograph of the universe. The galaxies that we see there are the farthest ever observed by man. As far as the light captured by the NASA telescope to make this photo, or more precisely this assembly of more than 2000 images, was emitted by these same galaxies 13.2 billion years ago. Thus, some of the galaxies visible on this 3D animation made from the eXtreme deep field appear as they were 500 million years ago only after the big bang : Focused on a parcel of the universe located in the Fourneau constellation, the eXtreme deep field has revealed 5,500 new galaxies more than the ultra deep field, or "ultra-deep field". This previous mapping of the same area of the universe was done thanks to the data provided by the telescope between 2003 and 2004. F I N .
