Recently declassified FBI documents reveal the government's interest in the death ray - a futuristic particle beam weapon invented by Tesla. The series of documents made available by the Freedom of Information Act also reveals that Tesla did not die on January 7, 1943, as was previously believed, but on January 8.

This implies, among other things, that the recently declassified documents reveal that the FBI planned to arrest Tesla's nephew, Sava Kosanoci, who was formerly Minister of Home Affairs of Yugoslavia.

Among the published files, there is a letter to J. Edgar Hoover, the first director of the FBI, stressing the importance of an article in which Tesla speaks of the ray of death and its "crucial importance" for the future of the war.

A SERIES OF DOCUMENTS AND A MEMORY OF THE FBI DATANT DATED JANUARY 9, 1943, INDICATES THAT TESLA LEDED NUMEROUS EXPERIENCES WITH THE TRANSMISSION OF WIRELESS ENERGY, ALIAS "THE RADIUS OF DEATH" .
It is interesting to note that Tesla's protector, Boyce Fitzgerald, had a dialogue with one of the US government officials, testifying that Tesla had told him that he had developed his experiments a month before his death.
